Dr Chua is a Forensic Psychiatrist based in Hospital Mesra Bukit Padang. He obtained his Medical Degree from UNIMAS and subsequently pursued his Master of Psychological Medicine (MPM) at UM. He has worked as a psychiatrist in North Borneo for several years and has had the opportunity to head both the forensic and community psychiatry unit. Later on, he continued his subspecialty training in Forensic Psychiatry and was awarded Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry. Dr Chua is well versed in maneuvering the complexities of forensic cases and has been regularly providing his service to both superior and subordinate courts across Malaysia as an expert witness. As a forensic psychiatrist, his interest is in sexual and violent offending among the mentally disordered. Dr Chua is also passionate about research and has won prizes and awards for his practice and research.
