Dr Layuza is a Consultant in Geriatric Psychiatry and is currently the Head of Psychiatry Department, Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ), Terengganu. She is also the guest lecturer in Psychological Medicine for the Medical Undergraduate program at the Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Terengganu since 2020. Dr. Layuza completed her Masters Degree in Psychological Medicine in UM in 2013. She found her calling in the field of Geriatric Psychiatry with a wealth of experience working in some of the busiest hospitals namely- Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL), Hospital Sultan Ismail (HSI) and Changi General Hospital, Singapore in 2019. Dr. Layuza has always been deeply invested and passionate in supporting the mental health of geriatric population. She has contributed numerous publications of scientific papers particularly on geriatric depression, dementia and community psychogeriatric. She is also a committee member of the National Integrated Care for Dementia in Older Adult Mental Health Service.
