Dr Siti Hazrah is a Consultant in Community and Rehabilitation Psychiatry based in Hospital Tunku Jaffar, Seremban (HTJS) as well as the Head of the MENTARI unit. Her work focuses on supported employment for those with serious mental illnesses, empowering patients with skills for independent living and socialization, supporting families and caregivers in looking after their loved ones with mental illnesses at home, and integration of mental health care into primary care settings. She has contributed to the development of the Malaysian guidelines on the management of bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, MENTARI implementation, and the guidelines for Supported Employment of people with mental illness. On an international platform, Dr Siti Hazrah has also contributed to the National Guidelines for Behavioural Health Crisis Care produced for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Her unwavering determination and dedication continue to nurture the growth of mental health advocacy programs and mental health awareness with active collaboration with NGOs in the country.
